Therefore, my advice is to buy from Amazon to save a few dollars, but before doing the installation - look up and write down all your settings so they can be manually reentered, in case you find yours deleted too. At about $10 per computer (for 3 PCs), it's a bargain. I always recommend using a second on-demand product (such as Malaware Bytes AntiMalware or Super AntiSpyware Remover) occasionally. During installation, you may notice wireless connection disconnecting a couple of times, annoying, but doesn't affect anything. There has been slight improvement in performance this year.
Now, every-time I boot my computer, I open Norton and turn the whole thing off until next reboot. It is inconvenient and time consuming to do this, but that is how annoying I find this software.
Symantec product support has not been helpful. Uninstalling the program and putting 2010 back on completely solved the problem on the Win 7 ultimate system. It's easy to install and use, doesn't bloat my system, and most importantly, doesn't slow down my other programs and processes. I highly recommend it! In addition, time your install to be close to your current expiration date; otherwise, you are cutting yourself short on coverage.
