The Apple iPad ran up record profits in quarter one of 2012, and many are convinced that the real competition has just started. We think that Apple's US$ 46.33 bill in net sales will galvanize the Android- and Windows-based competition to develop more desirable slates. While we are waiting for next gen tablet Computers to take pole position, let's check out the list of Android-powered tablet absolute must-haves from Tablet PC Comparison .
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. When these first rolled out onto the store shelves they came with Android 3.1 Honeycomb and enough muscle to breeze straight through your typical mobile computing wishes. It now has been updated to the newer Android 4.0 (the tasty sounding Ice Cream Sandwich) and is still one of the most popular non-Apple tablets around.
Archos 101 G9. This ninth generation tablet from Archos has a 1 GHz OMAP 4 multi-core processor from Texas Instruments (approximately the same speed as the Galaxy Tab's dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2) and like Samsung's tablet offering, the 101 G9 in addition has been upgraded to ICS. It is still one of the most affordable tablet PCs in the market, alongside Amazon's Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble's Nook Tablet.
Sony Tablet P and Tablet S. If you're looking for a non-traditional slate, then these two should be on your shortlist. If looks are not what you're involved with though, these tablets still have an ace up their sleeves. They're designed basically for entertainment, and with the integration of the PlayStation Store, lots of content (films, music, and video games) are merely a few taps away. The Tablet P and S have accordingly received their ICS upgrades.
Asus Transformer Prime. If you haven't totally abandoned the necessity for a keyboard in your mobile computing, then Asus ' offering should fit you quite well. It has an NVIDIA 1.5 GHz multi-core Tegra 3 and a mobile dock that turns it into a very slim and portable notebook. Naturally, this permits you not only to enjoy your content but create content too.
Next gen is just peeping round the corner and Tablet PC Comparison predicts a great year for these awesome units (and tablet users alike) due to stiffer competition. We'll see how everything goes, most especially once Apple releases the next iteration of the iPad. Stay tuned for more tablet PC comparison articles here.
